What makes you think this is okay?
Who said life is tangible and held in hands?
Why do we accept this as true?
Life shouldn't be discarded by the doings of man.
There is no reason!
There is NO reason...
The harbinger of death's breath
Shouldn't breathe down the neck of innocence.
In any sense it shouldn't come in packs like that.
Twenty-six all together and eighteen that never learned
That life is something that's beauty is earned.
And at that age it's not okay to be exposed
To the things that show that life is precious because it's fragile.
They're just fragile.
Little entities that are sniffling at the beveling of their defensive walls
Are now fragile and rattling while baffled by a scalpel that draws
Attention to a wound that won't easily heal.
Children exposed and exploding broken homes,
Shatter like glass houses with led stones being thrown.
And this isn't the only case.
Campuses, Movie Theaters, and Press conferences common,
All are swept with the impact of a devastating comet.
This trend, it's really not the way it should be,
And us accepting this is just making it easy.
Easy for the sleazy people that conspire these evil
And twisted plots to stop lives at such a young age.
I know we can't let people know it's their last day,
But I wish in some way they could have known
That their life would end before they begin to grow.
Everyday on the news there is another story,
Another man looking for glory by ignoring
The fact that no life is worth taking.
We sulk in these stories for a few weeks
And then after that the affect is weakened
Then turned into the butt of bad jokes.
It seems right now there is no hope,
No safety, no love;
Cowardly killers now lace up their gloves.
