The nicest iris I've ever seen,
As solar flairs beam in her eyes;
A twinkle in the night sky
Missing a few stars,
Near and far;
They've been gone too long.
That's my opinion.
But as I stop to listen
I hear other people wishing
Over stars on the concrete,
Mission incomplete
While with incompetence I compete,
Just to speak on the matter.
I end battered,
I leave with my clothes tattered
Though the latter does matter
When the ladder you are scaling
Is named after the letter grade
That'll get you paid
That you can't seem to maintain.
Multipling like bunny rabbits
Is your competition
That's itching to take your position.
I lack the witness,
To understand this phenomenon in your eyes;
A twinkle so addictive
It is my life line.
